AID: DIY Installation Art Circuits

The Art Interface Device
(AID) is a microprocessor platform for interfacing with sensors,
motors, and electronic devices. If installation art doesn't turn you
on, this could work just as well for building interactive electronic
instruments. Best of all, the hardware design itself is open source /
GPL, so you can just download the plans and go. (via eyebeam reblog)

Not up for soldering? There's a resource guide for people who will build it for you.

Maybe soon we'll all go back to the barter system. E.g., "I make really
delicious cheese and cozy sweaters for anyone who will build an analog
step sequencer."
