*phantom power for Mics (though I don’t see how XLRs would be mount on the case that small so it must be done with a breakout cable or a non-standard use of TRS).

*More sampling rates – though I wonder if any of these new devices’ analog electronics can actually take advantage of higher than 16bit/44.1k rates? I guess that’s why there’s SPDIF on it.
