I am looking to buy a portable music recorder which accepts input from a separate mic. The M-Audio by Microtek seems to fit the requirement. The above description is from 2005. Is there a newer product? Hopefully at a lower price?
Thanks, Manfred

The weak point of the device is the built in battery.

I'm getting better results with my MR8 than I expected. Been carting it around to shows... it may seem bulky at first, but this has been a good thing, since people tend to see it (it's bright red!) and stay away. I'm using an Audio Technica stereo condenser, originally meant for camcorders. Works better than I expected.
