Hey,
I use Guitar Rig 2 on a laptop and soundcard with the following spec:

Laptop:
Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz
1GB RAM
OS: Windows XP Media Centre

Sound card:
MOTU 896HD (connected via Firewire)

The MOTU goes out to the PA system at gigs, or into my flat-response active monitors at home.

It sounds absolutely great and I have had no stability or performance problems what-so-ever.

VIC, the program is also good for making sound! without pedal. my friends made their demo by recording analog guitar sound and the distortion was put on them by the rig. it was not bad! btw, i cant use it very well...:\

I´ve a question for you, somebody give me his guitar rig software but not the pedal, so I want to know if is neccesary to buy the pedal?? I use this software and I have problems with it because I only have a simple sound card in my pc and I can heard anything out from my guitar (or from the pc). In fact only received a error message
Thans for the advice.

Enjoyed Pierce's review on Guitar Rig. I had latency problems when I first used GR by itself on my "vintage" AMD Athlon XP 1700 with 512 ram and a 2003 soundblaster card. The software was not stable enough to use below the 15 ms it indicated, but the latency sounded more like 60+ ms making it impossible to use. Now, I get pretty good results using GR with Cakewalk home studio 2004. Latency is 10 ms when I access GR within home studio 2004. 10 ms may be "unacceptable" to those with fast guitar hands and ears but works fine for me!
