It's worth mentioning a few of the graphical frontends for Csound, which can make Csound programming a lot more intuitive and fun.

Jean Piché's Cecilia uses breakpoint functions to control the parameters of a Csound score. It also includes an algorithmic score generator.

Steven Yi's blue is a Java program whose defining feature is the use of modules called soundObjects, which can serve a number of functions and can be graphical or text-based.

New users or anyone who wants to learn more should be encouraged to join the Csound mailing list, where many of the active contributors to Csound and its frontends hang out, discuss computer music, and provide support for the software.
