Apple needs to be pressured to provide tech support for Logic Pro, not at $299 a consultation. Their rationale is that it is a professional application. Okay, then every time they have a glitch and we work it out for them they can pay us $299, fair enough? I have worked with about 99 software glitches and am owed much money. It is nonsense. The Digidesign people have been cool enough to answer some borderline Logic questions.

Are you on an Intel machine? The Intel Macs don't yet support ReWire. ReWire is working fine for me using Logic 7.2 on my Power Mac and Reason 3.0 -- not sure if there's an incompatibility with Reason 2.0.

you don't need rewire to connect logic's I/O to other apps. just use JACK. it doesn't work for protools, but since when did you really want to connect logic to protools anyway?

since logic has rewire support built in internally, there are a few things you can do with rewire that you can't do with JACK. its a shame that apple and other developers are not adding JACK support in the same way that they have supported rewire, especially given that its free software in all senses of the word.

Thanks for the update! Let us know when you get it, and how it works for you.

The process of duplicating discs and getting them into distribution can still be so clunky; those may be more of a delay than the software itself getting done. I wish Apple would let us download this, even for a fee -- 400 megs, etc. isn't so bad with a high-speed connection.

I put my order in on Feb 1, but like most of these things, I just got an email today Feb 3 from Apple:
"Due to an unexpected delay, we were unable to ship your product(s) by the date originally quoted to you. We now anticipate shipping the following item(s) as follows: will now ship by Feb 13, 2006 and deliver by Feb 21, 2006"

we'll see if it actually comes, as soon as I get it I'll see how it flows, I'm running a G4 1.42+2 on 10.3.9
