Some info I'd like to know:

1) Will there be accurate search for loop trim?
2) What is the load time per track, for searching and overall?
3) Can it load the same song on both channels and play simultaneously (beatjuggle)?
4) Does the manual BPM tap on the console save it to the id3 tag on the iPod?
5) What are the list of iPods compatible to it?

if the quality is good, i'll be picking one up. i was wondering when somebody was going to do this.

i'd heard rumours about pioneer's cdj having something similar in the works, and was salivating over that a while ago.

i do wish rane or somebody similar would pick up this gauntlet, though. numark makes decent home mixers, but audio quality was good at best...

none of of the product descriptions mention anything about outputs, etc. that pros need to know about...

Correct; agreed . . . see also Apple Lossless format which is basically a lossless version of AAC (and I think also related to a similar Dolby AC3 lossless spec? can't remember off the top of my head).

Lossless compression is still compression, however, by definition.

Just want to make sure that you and your readers understand that the reason FLAC sounds so good is that it uses lossless compression (similar, though more audio-specific, to zip etc). This makes it totally different from "compressed" formats that use psycho-acoustics to throw away information in the data on the basis that you can't hear (much) difference. Using FLAC is not similar to using mp3, ogg or aac; its basically like using a zip'ed wave file. The files are bigger (compression ratio is about 2:1, versus more typical 10:1 for lossy compression), and thats the main downside.
