The monome doesn’t even compare to the Tenori-On. I’ve uploaded some videos I took of it controlling an external sampler at SIGGRAPH 2005. When you see a line appear on the screen, it’s by pressing a modifier button on the side of the device, then dragging the line horizontally or vertically to adjust its value. This could be used for realtime controller adjustments while the sequence itself is still running.
