Live 6 will work only with plug-ins that have been made available as Universal Binaries. Those ranks are growing, however. Live and its own internal instruments and effects will work perfectly on a MacBook Pro; I tested this combination in the spring and it’s very potent. (That means Simpler, Impulse, Sampler, Operator, and all the effects.)

Peter, I think the Abe's are addressing that set switching issue in this (rather understated) entry in the improvements list: "Complete or track-wise merging of Live Sets". Also, I haven't covered Sampler yet, but I've written a fairly lengthy "pre-review" of Live 6 over on FlightDynamics if anyone's interested.
