Zerobae, you're absolutely right. I had either missed the pricing info or it wasn't immediately available when I checked. I've updated the story. Most people will probably just want to spring for the full boxed upgrade when it ships, since it'll save $20, unless they just don't want any more soundware.

Peter, the sounds alone are 99 EUR/119 USD - at least this is what you pay for the box if you've already purchased the download version. May include a printed manual as well.

The sampler looks very exciting, but I am wondering if Ableton is getting a bit over confident to charge almost as much for it as a dedicated sampler. Yes, it is sophisticated and blends nicely in with the rest of Live and can load much very quickly, but it really does not strike me as uniquely revolutionary. I think they are charging "whole new engine" prices for "upgraded fuel injection" technology. And that is a weak metaphor, but I think you get my drift.

Blessings,
Damon

I'm not so sure its a 'free' expansion pack of sounds as the boxed upgrade is €80 ($100)more than the download version.
boxed upgrade = €179 ($219)
download = €99 ($119)

the manual, cardboard and shipping costs money of course.
