Yea, the sfz problem was brought up on KVR’s forum last week. Here are a couple of suggested solutions brought up by steveholt & zvon:

Note that sfz files saved with Highlife, or those that have been fixed in Highlife can be correctly reloaded in HL as well as other sfz loading samplers.

ha, great that you saw highlife too. We actually did a short video piece on it in the Gearwire Crosstalk Podcast from last week.

There was a little problem loading an .sfz but otherwise it performed well. I only wish we could’ve spent more time on it.

Well, DirectWave is pretty similar to Highlife, and in many ways better than its predecessor. Since Image-Line has finally released an OSX synth in the form of Toxic III, it’s not totally out of the realm of possibility to have Directwave ported at some point in the near future…

And on a side note: I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. If FLStudio, Sonar, and SynthEdit (along with all the best plug-ins) are all ported to OSX, then there’s a pretty good chance that I’ll end up switching.

Since Image-Line and Cakewalk are now porting stuff to OSX, I might just eat those words sooner rather than later.
