[...] Yamaha decided to launch first in just one country, presumably chosen for its hipness, love of design, and adventurous embrace of nontraditional instruments. And they came up with the UK. (What, not Australia, known for its unusual concentration of createdigitalmusic.com co-creators and readers? Norway, which we just generally think is awesome? Thailand, which has a brilliant music tech blog? Oh, well. Too bad they’re all logical and not compulsively impulsive like me.) [...]

Plug for http://emusic.com/ .... 6 months ago, I always felt envious of my iTunes-using kids because emusic always seemed like such a backwater. Over the last several months, while they still have much less stuff than iTunes and certainly no major-label current big-sellers, its rare that I go searching on emusic for the independents I'm into and find nothing. $0.40 a song or thereabouts, via subscription. Its not perfect, but its very fine.

I was watching a TV program the other day on heavy metal. It ended with Norwegian artists burning churches and stabbing each other, so I guess it is fitting... ;-)

If you happen to pass through Bergen at some point, make sure to get in touch with us at BEK (www.bek.no).

Thanks, Anders. My current stats app seems not to be reporting country codes correctly, but in November Norway was the #11 most popular country for CDM readers, just behind France and Hong Kong. Impressive, given relative population size! (We've gotten some Norwegian referrer links, too.)

Norwegian love for digital music, perhaps!

Now I know where I want to tour next.
