I agree, J. But in defense of what he’s doing here, sometimes to figure out how to do something original, it helps to start by reproducing what you know. Whether or not WiiJ here gets somewhere interesting with it, I think it’s a good first step.

Nothing wrong with that per se, but I’m still interested in translating all those gestures into actual sound. That may lead to a melodic device rather than a DJ gadget.”

Here’s a simple demo of one of the ways I’ve been using the Wiimote as a musical device. Uses acceleration data to “scratch” samples. All using the Wiimote and SuperCollider on OSX.
