Having an audio editor to complement your DAW can be very useful -- especially for batch-processing clips to use, or just fine-tuning individual files. And it's possible to link to external editors from DP, though of course only Soundbooth, not Audition, is available for Mac.

[...] Native Photoshop and Illustrator import. Finally, you’ll be able to work with full-fidelity, seamlessly-imported files from other tools. Some people love Flash’s own vector tools, of course, but no one won’t love the ability to link up with Photoshop and import, complete with layers. CDMo is excited about: insane, multi-layered graphics for VJing in Flash. Edit audio cues easily. Part of why I’m excited about Soundbooth CS3, Adobe’s new audio app, is that it’s perfectly-suited for editing audio for Flash (and, other marketing ideas beside, I’m fairly certain that’s how the tool came about in the first place). More on Soundbooth over at Create Digital Music. [...]

I used to use Adobe Audition 2 before I bought my Macbook Pro, and it worked really well for what I was doing at the time. Now that I've bought Digital Performer 5, I don't think that I could ever go back again. I really did enjoy the .wav editing part of Audition tho ...
