You have named a few companies that have working drivers for Vista, but are they not just a sort of WaveRT wrapper for ASIO devices?
I'm unaware of any semi-pro/pro audio interface that is running natively with WaveRT drivers. Am I wrong in this assumption? Aren't these so called Vista drivers just a quick fix wrapper like Asio4All is to WDM?

Bill, I should have clarified: WaveRT will work with PCI, PCIe, and things like internal audio chipsets. The important point, though, is that it leaves out the mobile buses that are more common with audio users, such as USB and FireWire, and, as near as I can tell, PCMCIA and CardBus.

WaveRT driver support benefits only people with PCIe devices

I've just read the Microsoft white paper on WaveRT and I believe this statement to be completely wrong. WaveRT drivers can certainly be written for PCI devices, not just PCIe.
