Howdy.
I’m the documentary maker who produced, shot, and edited the screen footage Patrick captured off the screen during Trimpin’s keynote lecture.
The footage is part of a forthcoming feature documentary called
“TRIMPIN: the sound of invention” — 79 minutes about Trimpin’s life, work, and extraordinary inventions and installations.
Please watch for it at festivals; it will eventually show up on DVD.

Hey all.
The footage of Trimpin is down. A documentary maker from San Fran has the rights to the footage I filmed during Trimpin’s keynote video lecture, so he asked me to remove it.
Too bad.

Great report, nice to see a broad-overview of what was going on. The convolutated drum processing is a very good idea, why not use the same technique to explore droning and constantly fluctuating sounds, mmmm the mind boggles.

Shame the videos are so short, was it a limitation of the camera? 30 second clips or similar?

Anyway, highly entertaining reading.

i didn’t get a chance to read this post yet, but i just wanted to ask:

patrick, are you the guy that works with dr. kim at drexel? i think we met before . . i was applying to drexel to work with dr. kim, but decided to go elsewhere. i think we talked about aphex twin and sound collage when i visited. just wondering. if so . . hi. :-)
