I saw Cornelius twice in New York and both times it got me. ‘Genuine’. That’s all I feel like adding to all the great comments above.

damn. i remember cornelius playing in 1998. i think at the troubadour. i totally missed that. i think he might have done coachella too. i missed that. i REALLY wanted to see him at that L.A. show last month. found out about it just SLightly too late. glad you enjoyed the show tho astronout.

I saw Cornelius at the Walt Disney Concert hall in LA last January. I actually went to the show to see Plaid, not knowing who Cornelius was. Unfortunatly, Plaid sucked. Their shows have been pretty boring the last few times I’ve seen them. But Cornelius simply blew me away. Once of the best performances I’ve seen, ever. And seeing this at the Walt Disney Concert hall was the icing on the cake.

I’ve seen some pretty amazing shows, from BjÃ¶rk to Man … or Astro-man? And to me, nothing comes close to a live Cornelius show. Keigo really is one of the hardest working musicians of our day.

Crazy to hear you mention Shibuya-kei Peter. I don’t know too many people here in the states that are familiar with that scene/term/genre.

Great interview! I’ve been a huge fan of Corneluis since Fantasma as well & was lucky enough to see him/them perform back in 99 on tour w/ the Flaming Lips & Sebadoh. More recently I caught them in philly at the TLA & was completely blown away. I noticed that he was still using the ‘ol Boss SP-202 w/ the crowd participating. Peter, you couldn’t have described the show better!
