From day one of the release of SampleMoog, sounds for the PC demo are non-exsistant - does anyone here knpw why and does anyone here know if IK will ever fix this issue (or is there a simple way to convert the OSX Instrument files so they work on a PC ?). THis causes the demo to not find Inrtument Parts when Instruments are chosen through the UI. I haven't found any other way to load instruments yet.

Mr. Blue. Just got Sample Moog.

It's pretty fantastic. Granted, I've never owned a Moog, though I've coveted them for years. Finally being able have over a dozen at my fingertips is unreal. There is an amazing amount of preset sounds and they SOUND wonderful and rich.

Anyhow, just some initial thoughts.

@Sizurp,
Yeah, I think if you're just looking for cool synth sounds -- not Moog sounds per se -- you've got a lot of choices. NI's Massive is one of my favorites at the moment, just because of its elegant UI (drag and drop modulation, etc.) But this is a HUGE list of potential options there.

Yes and no. These are definitely cool synth sounds but it sounds like you'd probably be better off with a more varied collection. You might want purely digital sounds or real instrument samples. Moog sounds are important to anyone making any kind of electronic music but they probably aren't all you'd want or need.

So these kinds of sample collections are for people who REALLY *REALLY* want an identifable Moog sound, right?

Am I right in assuming that a product like this is of very limited interest to someone who just wants cool synth sounds, and doesn't care what machine they come from?

Moog toys are an essential in any creatively-driven recording environment... This looks sweet!

schlarb, I'd be interested in hearing your feedback a month from now...

Just picked this up yesterday. I'm happy to have read another positive review of it here. And thanks for spreading the word on the Moog Foundation and Craig Anderton's loving tribute!

Personally, I was sold when I heard the Taurus Bass Pedal sounds. All I could think of was Mike Rutherford standing clean shaven and sunken-eyed (with a double necked bass/12-string!) behind a giant Taurus on the floor.
