I found this mic (see link below), which to my ears, sounds a little better. Less popping on the “p’s”, better bass response and smaller. By the way, according to the manufacturer, it’s been on the market for over 2 years, so Blue’s claim is indeed false. They have sample to listen to here comparing the mics:

The claim is that the Snowflake is the first “professional portable” USB microphone. I don’t know of any other USB mic made by a hig-end company like Blue, much less a portable one.

I have both the Snowflake and Snowball and compared to similar priced mics (important in comparing), they sound great and look like nothing else on the planet!

we tried it at the apple store between the snowball and the snowflake. Snowball has more features for the buck, sounds way better to.

For a long time there have been loads of “Podcast”-Mics around which connect by USB… Claiming this is a “first” is just wrong.
