I interviewed the guy, there is currently no website for it. And he's working on a video version. It's not an internet technology but it's using the concept of p2p in radio waves, so no computer is required, the network is made through a mesh of these radio devices. He's also working on another project similar to this but instead of only audio, there will also be video.

This is a very cool idea.
is there no website for this?

similiar are these types of websites that do use p2p streaming:
http://www.peercast.org
http://www.streamerp2p.com/

but of course these arn't built around the ideas of hardware this guy proposes.
can't wait for more info :)

Well, of course, some of this is on shoutcast. But if you didn't need a server -- if it were all P2P -- that'd change things considerably. With easier remote broadcasting capability, doubly so.

"Imagine tuning into a gamelan performance in Jakarta, then a live electronic music evening from Brazil, then a performance in rural sub-Saharan African (relayed to better infrastructure in Lagos)."

I desperately want this to happen. This might be possible *without* an actual Playstation? That would be amazing. I think I've seen a PSP only twice now!

Now that I have a wireless connection to a semi-reliable cable modem I've poked around trying to see if I could find random webcam connections to far-away cities with little luck.

I'd much rather hear music from around the globe.
