I wish this had some CDJ style wheels so you cue up tracks when DJ'ing. I'd buy this if it did.

I cant believe that they arent going to make them now. Just becuase they only recieved 20 orders in teh first few days. Who do they think they are Apple? Where they expecting in the first week of making them orderable they they would get thousands of orders? I fail to understand what kind of business model they were working to, they obviously dont understand how starting up a small business works.
Well, thats a loss to them and to the computer music community because they had created an awesome device that had generated a huge amount of interest.
I hope that what happens here is someone else who has a better understanding of running a business and some starting capital that they musnt have had, takes thier idea and runs with it.

I was gutted to get the email to say that they won't be producing ANY aurora models for the general public. Apparently they received less than 20 orders for them.

I know that I didn't order mine because I don't have 440 spare at the moment, and was hoping to pick one up come a second release/hardware revision, slightly treating this like a beta.

But this mixer looks too good to just pop its head up for a moment then die off just as fast.

Take the risk Aurora! Build that first batch. You will sell them. Finish the thing off too. Don't treat your own project like its not finished! Selling it without knobs! The PCB access is cool, and you can get away with it, but without knobs just seems lazy. I know there is the customisation element to consider, but it gives the project the image of not being finished.

Bring it back. If you do I will buy one.

Wish I was handy with a soldering iron, then I would replace the 6 knobs that I would use for EQ with ones that had centre notches, its pretty much vitalfor me so you dont have to look at the EQs when mixing, especially because sometimes I will be changing 3 or more at once with my fingers on the side of the knob so need that notch to make sure I dont go above 0db on any of them....
The lack of that in the pre built kit has just saved me 420 bucks for now....
This is the closest to the "perfect device" I have been waiting for. I'll just wait a little longer and maybe they will change that in the next hardware revision....
