I just read that the city of Amsterdam is not going to continue the support of STEIM. Imho: that’s a real shame! Amsterdam should be proud of the institution that brought the Cracklebox and so many other interesing things to us.

taku is dj sniff right? i like his approach to turntablism. it’d be cool to study at steim, i’m sure you’d learn loads so fast. it’s a shame i have to, you know, work and junk.

If you’d like to do something with Steim the best approach is likely to simply send them a email describing what you’d like to do.

Steim isn’t some inaccessible monolith; the main reason you’ll find my name above in the session on rhythm and sequencing is simply that earlier this year I walked up to Taku (Steim’s current creative director) and said “hey, I just heard your short speech and think you may be interested in my work”.
