I saw Willits perform @ the Communikey fest in Boulder last month. He kinda played a short set, but it was fantastic. The video stuff he is now implementing works really well with his sound… inspired me to work up some video for my ambient performances, only wish i was using max/msp/jitter for some proper video tomfoolery… at this point my video debut (this sunday night) will be played on *drumroll* a DVD player!!

anyhow, if those of you in SF dont end up going to the workshop it will def. be worth the 10 bones to see him play afterwords!

From the sound of the article, it sounds like it will be more than ‘just talking about Ableton;” but even if was just that…dubSpot seems like a decent source to hear about ableton from.

I’m really happy they’re starting in my hometown of ’sunny’ san francisco, but I’m a bit torn by the cost. Even with the discount (thanks Peter!), $100 is a lot for just a day of talking about ableton. It’s 1/4 the way to a APC40 :). Although if anyone’s going, Christopher Willits is playing afterwards at Cafe du Nord for only $10. If anyone’s going, give a post so I can know to look for a fellow CDMer in the crowd.

sounds awesome, but a little expensive. $125 a day just for showcasing Ableton Live stuff???
