wow. nice to see my project (maschine fighter) featured :)
it was incredible fun to play with NI maschine. also was great to do my first steps on midi programming and PYMIDI (http://notahat.com/pymidi) is just a nice access to it :)

we got (i think all) the presentations on video, just need to collect (they're on different cams and in different countries by now) and upload them. i'll keep you informed

@Peter - oh yeah, I've seen that. I thought portmidi in turn used core MIDI for its Mac implementation, a la the Java (JNI) binding around portaudio?

Actually, pyPortMidi, a real Python library, will get you MIDI IO on both Mac and PC. It's easy to set up on Windows, and possible to set up on OSX (I've done both). A Python library that used CoreMIDI would be another good tool.

Sorry -- it's an Objective-C library. There are ways of bridging CoreMIDI with Python and Java, though, too, to say nothing of good 'ol C/C++. And Obj-C is a nice language, so for Mac-only development this is pretty cool. Now, the remaining mystery -- why "Py", when that usually denotes Python?
