Cycling ’74: Max/MSP/Jitter 4.6.2 – 1.6.2 for Mac and Windows, More Universal Binaries, Pluggo on Intel Macs

Cycling ’74 just updated darn near everything they make: New Universal Binaries: Mode, Hipno, and UpMix are all Intel-native. But the big news is that Pluggo, the long-beloved C74 plug-in library, is available — meaning you should also be able to turn your Max compositions into Intel-native plug-ins. Max/MSP 4.6.2 / Jitter 1.6.2: Max 4.6/Jitter 1.6 had already brought Intel Mac support, so other than some bugfixes for Mac users, the big news here is for the Windows side: the new features in Max 4.6 and (most significantly) Jitter 1.6 are now available to Windows users. Mono Touch Live Lemur Clone Now Free

You heard it hear first. For those of you who just joined us, Mono Touch is a simple clone of the Ableton Live template from Lemur, though without the Lemur’s multi-touch capability, hardware, physics, customizability, and essentially everything other than the look of the interface. My criticism of this effort — which gave no credit to the Lemur and charged money for the results — divided readers here on CDM. But evidently feedback from me and others got the attention of the creator, because he’s now removing the price tag and making the software free.

Lemur 1.5 was announced today, bringing some significant improvements to this unique multi-touch display/control surface.
